Teaching/Laboratory assistant at Uppsala Archaeobitanical Group - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Archaeology and Ancient History is a multidisciplinary institution dedicated to teaching and research in archaeology, osteology, Classical cultures and societies, Egyptology, and global environmental history. With operations in both Uppsala at Campus Engelska Parken and Visby at Campus Gotland, the department offers two bachelor's programs, four international master's programs, and numerous standalone courses, supported by a team of approximately 60 staff members. Duties
Duties include teaching, administration or participation in research or artistic research. Laboratory assistant for the Uppsala Archaeobitanical Group which is part of the national infrastructure Archlab (https://archlab.se/). Worktasks include preparation of pollen and phytoliths, macrofossil analyses and analytical work in limited quantities. Tasks may also include collection and digitization of reference material. We develop methods for automated analysis and you will also work with this as part of the employment.

Requirements
For employment as a teaching assistant, it is a requirement that you are admitted as a student at advanced level. Experience from laboratory environments and/or knowledge in AI and automation of microscopic analysis. 

Additional qualifications
Knowledge of archaeobotany and/or biology is rewarded. Previous experience from similar work is also rewarded.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 § 12 for one year. Scope of employment is 20%. Starting date 1 August 2024 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
