The Department of Economics is one of the largest departments within the Faculty of Social Sciences with approximately 100 employees from a dozen countries. Each year about 1,000 students participate in undergraduate (BA), graduate (MA) and PhD level courses. The research conducted at the department is mainly focused on labour economics, macroeconomics, political economics and public economics. Researchers at the department are frequently engaged as experts by the government and by the media, and interact with the society at large in a number of ways. Duties
The research assistant will work closely with us on a project studying the careers of scientists. The position is temporary for 2,5 months. 

Typical tasks include preparing and analyzing data, assisting with literature reviews and gathering background information, and collecting data using webscrapers/ link databases on researchers with a fuzzy linking algorithm.

Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a university level education (or be enrolled) in economics and have experience with automated linking of records across large databases. You will also need programming skills in Python, as well as experience in using databases (e.g. SQL) and data analysis. Good knowledge of English is a requirement.
