The Department of Medicinal Chemistry at Uppsala University is a strong and international research environment. The department has about 85 employees and here, doctoral students, teachers, researchers and administrators work closely together in a creative and open environment. More information about the department can be found at www.ilk.uu.se.

The research at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry spans a wide range of subjects. In the research group Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry, the projects are focused on bioanalysis of drugs, drugs in the environment, metabolomics and lipidomics. One focus area concerns separation science and mass spectrometry with the overall aim to create faster, more selective and sensitive analytical methods for drugs and endogenous compounds. The technique mainly used in the projects is liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry, LC-MS/(MS). More information on the research is available at http://www.ilk.uu.se/forskargrupper/afk/.

Within the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, there is a research infrastructure with support from the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy, which performs analytical services in the above-mentioned areas.

We now have an available position as Research Engineer in organic chemical analysis in this infrastructure.
