Academic expertise: Academic expertise here concerns research qualifications in Kurdish linguistics and/or Kurdish literary studies. When evaluating academic expertise, the main criterion will be academic excellence within the field. Research on other Iranian languages and comparative Iranian philology is also meritorious. The range of the research, in terms of scope and depth, is also significant. Also taken into consideration are the ability to plan, initiate, lead and develop research projects, successful acquisition of competitive research funding, and demonstrated ability to collaborate, both academically and with the surrounding community.

The ability to plan, initiate, lead and develop programmes and courses is crucial, as is the ability to link teaching to research. Another aspect of pedagogical skill is being able to discuss pedagogical issues and collaborate on them with persons and organizations both within and outside the academic setting.

All qualifications must be documented so that they can be evaluated in terms of both quality and scope.
