The present researcher position is within the research group Clinical Psychology in Healthcare, hosting U-CARE an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research program (http://www.u-care.uu.se), at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health. The U-CARE group specializes in the development, piloting, and evaluation of Mental Health interventions for people with somatic disease, and their significant others, e.g. e-Health interventions. U-CARE has several international collaborations and our broad competence within research methodology was acknowledged in the latest evaluation of research conducted at Uppsala University.
Duties/Project Description: The person we are looking for will work on two projects. One project is focused on the test and evaluation of an internet-administered, guided, self-help intervention for parents of children treated for cancer. The second project is focused on the development, feasibility, and evaluation of a guided self-help intervention for depression in people with dementia living in the community. Both projects utilize mixed-methods and therefore we are ideally looking for a researcher with both qualitative and quantitative research experience.
The successful applicant will support the principal investigators to coordinate the work within the two projects, with the primary objective of the position being to support the principal investigators ensure projects are delivered to time and budget. The role will include the supervision of project coordinators and research assistants, development of study protocols, managing ethical approval processes, monitoring recruitment and retention, liaising with project members and external collaborators, writing for publication, and contributing to the process of securing research funds. The role will also include analyzing and reporting qualitative and quantitative data.
Requirements: To be eligible for the position, you need to have completed a PhD in Psychology, Health Care Sciences, Behavioural Sciences, or a related field. You must have the PhD before the application deadline.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability such as flexibility, ability to prioritize, good teamwork, and quality awareness. You will also have experience of supervision of others and very strong organizational and administrative skills.
