The Department of Peace and Conflict Research was established in 1971 to conduct peace  research and offer Courses in peace and conflict studies. Currently approx. 70 persons are employed at the Department and at present some 300-400 students are enrolled every academic year. The department and the project ViEWS (www.pcr.uu.se/research/views/) is now looking for a Project Coordinator for a permanent part time position (40 %).

Tasks:

The project coordinator is responsible for the ongoing administration of the ViEWS project and reports to the project manager. Tasks include:

  • Follow-up of budgets and financial reporting.
  • Monitoring relations with the European Research Council and other financiers, including all reporting requirements.
  • Managing project staff, visiting researchers, research associations and country experts, including keeping track of office assignments, time reporting, assignment and recruitment-related tasks.
  • Managing ViEWS Brownbag Series.
  • Contribute to Complementary Application Applications.
  • Monitor Documentation Procedures for the Project.
  • Follow-up of External Contacts such as Cooperative Organizations and Devices.
  • Delivering Technical Services to the Project.
  • Follow-up of Open Source Structure and Copyright Issues for the Project.

Qualifications:

  • Master degree in peace and conflict or other field relevant to the project focusing on Arabic studies.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience from writing research applications, planning and reporting of EU-funded projects.
  • Knowledge of academic copyright issues.
  • Excellent English (writing and speaking).

Desirable/ meriting:

  • Knowledge of Uppsala University's structures and administrative procedures.
  • Reading and writing skills in another language spoken in most parts of Africa.
  • Experience in working with Horizon 2020 projects.
  • Experience of Uppsala University's administrative tools, such as TimeEdit and Kurt.
  • Experience working with ShareLatex and Trello.
