Uppsala University, Department of Peace and Conflict Research

The Department of Peace and Conflict Research was established in 1971 to conduct peace  research and offer Courses in peace and conflict studies. Currently approx. 70 persons are employed at the Department and at present some 300-400 students are enrolled every academic year. Courses offered include undergraduate and post-graduate courses, as well as a Ph. D. programme.

For the department, we are now looking for a course administrator to cover for a parental leave, during the period 180801-181231. The position is a part time position (75%).

Tasks
The job as course administrator means that in collaboration with the director of studies, course managers and other teachers, make sure that the administration of the department's programs and courses can be carried out in an optimal manner.

Your assignments will include booking of rooms, registration/deregistration of students, reporting of study results, handling of course material, examination of examinations, administration and compilation of course evaluations, work with courses and program offerings in the course catalog, information and administrative services for students, teachers, other staff and visitors. The tasks also include administration of inbound and outgoing exchange students. The administrative systems you will be working with are Uppdok, Selma, Student Portal, Time-Edit and NyA.

Qualifications
You have a relevant university degree or equivalent skills that the employer considers equal and experience with similar tasks. You have good computer skills as well as very good ability to express yourself both in speach and in writing, both in Swedish as well as in English.

As a person, you need to be outgoing and easy to communicate with. You are service-oriented, responsible, careful, initiative-oriented, responsive, and a problem-solver. You take responsibility and you are a good teamplayer. Since the work contains periods of high workload it is important that you have good organizational skills and ability to prioritize. We want you to have a well-proven experience in administrative work. Experience with work with the administrative systems Uppdok, Selma, Student Portal, Time-Edit and NyA is a requirement.

Desirably / meritorious
Since we have a large proportion of international students, international experience in both studies and work is a merit. Additional language skills are very meritorious. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
