Two research assistants - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics.

Research project: The research assistants will work on a project called Soccermatics financed by the EU and in cooperation with the company Twelve. The project involves developing tools for analyzing football matches and then using this analysis to build computer games.

Duties: The main duty is the development of tools for analyzing football matches using the ball data from data provider Opta. We are working together with the company Twelve to develop a system for evaluating players and teams. The research assistants will develop tools for analyzing matches and build an Aritificial Intelligence Chatbot to talk about matches with fans.

Requirements: A strong analytical background with a degree or (preferably) master degree in engineering physics, applied mathematics or related area.

Additional qualifications: Documented programming skills in Python, .Net, C# or similar. Familiarity with using Opta data is an advantage. Knowledge of football is desirable.

Pay: Fixed pay.
