Digital Student Ambassador for Chinese Social Media Channels

We are now looking for Chinese student ambassadors who can create content for our digital platforms in China.

At Uppsala University we value diversity and try to recruit students from all over the world to our programmes taught in English. We believe it is important to support all students in making an informed decision to study at Uppsala University, and, for that purpose, we recruit student ambassadors who can share stories on social media from their daily life.

We are now looking for creative and committed Chinese student ambassadors to help us with our Chinese digital platforms. Our target group is prospective students in China who are interested in studying at Uppsala University.

Duties
In the team of digital ambassadors your job is to, in cooperation with our marketing and recruitment team, spread awareness about Uppsala University in China. You will work as a content creator, planning, creating and publishing content for our digital platforms. Together with the other ambassadors, you will take turns administrating our Chinese digital accounts and platforms where you will show your everyday life as an international and Chinese student in Uppsala or Visby. You will inspire and support future students and answer their questions, in order to help them make the best decision about their future. You will also be helpful in QQ and WeChat about topics related to life as an international student in Sweden. We don’t expect you to work during the winter and summer holidays, but you will have to help in planning and creating content in advanced.

Each team of ambassadors will have a team leader to guide you along the way.

Requirements
In order to apply to join the team you will need to be a registered student at Uppsala University during the academic year 2025-2026. You must be able to produce content in Chinese. You will have to be an on-campus student in Uppsala or Visby.

Additional qualifications
You have experience in social media which you can demonstrate and you have good verbal presentation skills. Emphasis will be placed on personal skills such as creativity, writing skills, ability to work independently and organisational skills.

Your application should consist of three parts:

1. Curriculum Vitae
2. An example of a blog post in Chinese not longer than 1 page where you introduce yourself and answer the following questions:

• Why would you like to be an international digital ambassador for Uppsala University?
• Where are you from?
• What are you studying/going to study at Uppsala University?
• What is something that prospective students need to know before applying to Uppsala University?

3. A video where you introduce yourself in Chinese. Guidelines:

• No longer than 45 seconds.
• This video should be able to be used as a presentation of you during your first “take-over” on our Red Book or Bilibili account.
• Keep the target group in mind.
• Emphasis is placed on your presentation skills.
• Film the video with your phone.
• You should be visible on screen and heard clearly.
• Name the file with your name.
• Send the video before the application deadline to laven.fathigarcia@uu.se.

About the employment
Type of employment is hourly employment according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 § 12. Scope of employment approximately 75-85 hours per academic year. Starting date: august 2025. Placement: Uppsala/Visby.
