The Department of Women’s and Children’s Health at Uppsala University hereby announces a 50% position as a Research Assistant within the network Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in the European Region (SERA-ETN). SERA-ETN is a thematic network funded by ENLIGHT.
Duties
The position includes providing support in the organisation and administration of the ANSER Conference, to be held on 6–8 May 2026 in Ghent, Belgium. In close collaboration with the conference organiser, you will be assigned tasks including communication and marketing, management of registrations, and handling practical matters related to the conference. The duties also include coordinating other activities within the SERA network in consultation with the project leader. This involves organising seminars, communication between network partners, and report writing. The position is based at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, MTC Building, Dag Hammarskjölds väg 14B, Uppsala. On-site work in Ghent before and during the conference in May is expected.
Qualifications
You must hold a university degree at the advanced (Master’s) level in global health with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and have documented experience of administrative work. Experience and ability to plan, initiate, lead, implement, and develop project coordination are considered meritorious. Very good communication skills, both written and spoken, in English are required. Proficiency in Swedish is an asset. You should be comfortable working with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Experience in communication work, website development, and administration of social media is also considered an advantage.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as analytical ability, flexibility, a service-oriented mindset, and strong organisational skills. You should also be proactive, enjoy being supportive, have good collaboration skills, and actively contribute to teamwork both as a leader and as a team member, as well as be able to work independently.
