Research Administrator

The Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences is a department within the Faculty of Medicine at Uppsala University. The department currently has about 200 employees, and an additional 150 researchers are affiliated with the department. The activities consist of 10 research groups, and education is conducted at all levels. 

Uppsala Health Economics (UHE) is a specialized unit of health economists, at the Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences, at Uppsala University. Our team has expertise in applying health economic methods to health-related questions, including trial-based and model-based economic evaluations and using register data to evaluate the impact of health services on health and economic outcomes. Our health economists lead several projects across different fields including Mental Health, Child Health, Public Health, Precision Medicine and Innovation in Healthcare. Our approach is grounded in collaboration, working closely with clinicians to reach the best outcomes. We work with both national and international partners. engage in commissioned work for healthcare providers, municipalities, and independent foundations.

We are now recruiting a Research Administrator (50%) with a focus on communication, coordination, data management,  reporting, and structured research administrative support to strengthen UHE’s expanding activities.

 

Duties

The work includes communication, coordination, and structured research support. Examples of duties:

  • Manage contracts, documentation, and project administration.
  • Oversee data management procedures and organisation of research data.
  • Branding: Creating and communicating the team’s values and personality, both visually and in messaging.
  • Creation and management of processes and workflows.
  • Coordinate and compile UHE’s annual report (content and layout).
  • Responsible for UHE’s website, blog, and LinkedIn posts.
  • Prepare and distribute newsletters.
  • Prepare presentations and other communication materials.
  • Draft and edit Swedish and English summaries for reports, web pages, and publications.
  • Provide research and data support to the team within agreed time frames.
  • Support planning and logistics for seminars, workshops, and meetings.

Qualification Requirements

To be eligible, the applicant must have:

  • A relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English.
  • Documented experience in branding, communication, administration, or research support.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a structured and independent manner.

Desirable qualifications

It is considered an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in branding, communication work within academia, the private sector, public agencies, or research projects.
  • Experience with web publishing, newsletters, social media, or science communication.
  • Experience in project administration, data organisation, or document management.
  • Skills in layout/communication tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe applications).
  • Experience in creation and management of processes and workflows. 
  • An interest in health economics, public health, or medical research.
