The Department
The Department of Peace and Conflict Research was established in 1971 to conduct peace research and offer courses in peace and conflict studies. Currently approx. 90 persons are employed at the Department and approximately 1000 students are enrolled every academic year. The Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament (AMC)
The issue of nuclear weapons has resurfaced as a key global concern. In 2021, Uppsala University was selected to establish a national knowledge centre on nuclear disarmament at the initiative of the Government of Sweden. The AMC provides multidisciplinary research, education and policy support to facilitate nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation and arms control.
The Department and AMC is looking for two teaching assistants who can support our administrative work in the spring 2026. As part of our team, you will play a key role in, among other things, the planning and execution of AMC's conference.
Duties
In June 2026, AMC is holding a multidisciplinary conference. In connection to this, you will support the marketing of the event, make travel bookings, put together materials and also be part of the organisation during the conference days themselves. In addition, you will support our team with other administrative tasks, such as working with the centre's communications and helping with reporting and documentation.
Requirements
For employment as a teaching assistant, it is a requirement that you are admitted as a student at undergraduate or advanced level. In addition to this, you must have good organisational skills and the ability to perform administrative tasks accurately. You must be fluent in English, both spoken and written, as well as be a team player with excellent communication skills.
Additional qualifications
Previous experience in planning and executing events is desirable.

About the employment
The employment is a: temporary position according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 § 12. Scope of employment: 20%. Starting date: 2 February 2026, or as agreed. The position will terminate on 19 June 2026. Placement: Uppsala.
