Duties

Applicants are expected to conduct research in theoretical physics related to quantum field theory and string theory. Research areas of particular interest include scattering amplitudes, gravitational waves, applications of machine learning to string phenomenology, and integrability in gauge theories.

Requirements
PhD degree in Theoretical Physics or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in Theoretical Physics. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment. The starting point of the three-year frame period is the application deadline. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

The application should contain a cover letter mentioning their research area, a CV, a brief research statement, and a publication list. Personal circumstances that may be of relevance in the evaluation, for example periods of parental leave, should be mentioned in the CV.
