Our group investigates the biological mechanisms underlying traumatic brain injury (TBI) with the aim of identifying processes that drive secondary brain injury. We study how genetic factors influence recovery and clinical outcome after TBI, and we explore pharmacological interventions that can improve prognosis. The research includes work with experimental animal models, molecular and cellular analyses, and translational studies based on patient samples. The group collaborates closely with clinical researchers and international partners, linking experimental discoveries to improved patient care.

Duties

The position involves planning and conducting experimental work in neuroscience, molecular biology, and pharmacology, including:

  • Animal models of traumatic brain injury
  • Histopathological analysis of brain tissue and imaging
  • Testing of pharmacological treatments
  • You will also perform data analysis, contribute to publications, and participate in the group’s scientific activities

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD degree in biomedicine, medicine, pharmacy, or a related field
  • Documented experience in wet‑lab experimental research.
  • Proficiency in molecular and cellular techniques
  • Excellent command of English, written and spoken
  • Accuracy, independence, and collaborative skills

Additional qualifications

  • Experience with laboratory animal models and ethical applications
  • Knowledge of neurobiology or pharmacological treatment
  • Experience with bioinformatics or image analysis
