Postdoctoral position in Representation Theory

The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The number of employees is 130, including 40 PhD students. The Department has three research programmes: analysis and probability, algebra and geometry, applied mathematics and statistics. The representation theory group is part of the algebra and geometry programme and consists of 4 permanent members and 6 PhD students. To read more, please visit the department´s webpage.

Duties
Conduct research in representation theory within the project “Quivers, exact categories and A-infinity algebras”. Teaching and administration may be included (maximum 20 percent).

Requirements
PhD degree in mathematis or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in mathematics. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Priority will be given to applicants who have completed their degree no more than three years before the deadline for applications. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

Documented ability to excellent research in representation theory and related areas. Relevant subareas include homological algebra, Auslander-Reiten theory, highest weight categories, BGG category O, and A-infinity categories.

Proficiency in spoken and written English.

About the employment
