Postdoctoral position in Quantum information theory

Duties
The position is for a postdoc in the research group of Assistant Professor Roope Uola located at Nordita in Stockholm. The research project focuses on the theory of quantum measurements, their applications in quantum correlations and more broadly quantum information theory, as well as in the use of quantum measurement theory in benchmarking quantum technological platforms.

The position involves doing research under the direction of the PI and independently. A successful candidate is expected to contribute to the supervision of students, as well as to the research environment in general.

Requirements
PhD degree in physics or mathematics or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in physics or mathematics. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Priority will be given to applicants who have completed their degree no more than three years before the deadline for applications. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

Additional qualifications

Proficiency in convex optimization and functional analysis are a plus.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position of 2+1 years according to central collective agreement. Full time position. Starting date 1st December 2025 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
