Researcher
Are you interested in researching digital healthcare, with the support of competent and friendly colleagues in an international environment? Are you looking for an employer that invests in sustainable employeeship and offers safe, favourable working conditions? We welcome you to apply for a researcher position at Uppsala University.

The position is placed in the ‘Participatory eHealth and Health Data’ research group at the Department of Women's and Children's Health. The Department of Women's and Children's Health (WCH) is an international and multi-professional institution with a focus on health and well-being. The global health perspective is always present, and we collaborate across professions and clinical areas, both in education and in research.

The ‘Participatory eHealth and Health Data’ research group is led by Maria Hägglund, and studies the implementation and use of eHealth and new technologies in healthcare and self-care.

Duties

Health Informatics is an interdisciplinary research field that includes research with a focus on how digital solutions can be used for self-care and in health and social care to improve health and/or quality of care. The field includes studies on the needs, design, implementation and evaluation of eHealth in many different contexts, with many different stakeholders, and a breadth of research methods.

The person we are looking for will work on various research projects, including focusing on patients' access to their medical records online, and how patients can take a more active role in identifying and addressing inaccuracies or missing information in the medical record. Tasks include, in collaboration with researchers already involved, overseeing recruitment and participation; assisting in the collection of both quantitative data (mainly surveys) and qualitative data in the form of interviews; participating in the analysis of collected data; and processing and reporting data in scientific articles. Teaching will also be included in the tasks.

Requirements

The applicant must have a PhD in health informatics or an equivalent subject area in health sciences such as health sciences, health informatics, or a closely related discipline. Experience of patient participation in research on digital solutions, such as patient portals and patients' access to their medical records online is also a requirement. The applicant must have a proven track record of publications on these digital health solutions, along with demonstrated success of obtaining external research grants acquired in competition. The applicant should have previous experience in both quantitative and qualitative methodology.

As teaching will be part of the position, previous teaching experience is also required.

Applicants should have good ability and interest in working independently and have very good ability to express themselves in English in speech and writing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability such as flexibility, ability to prioritise, good cooperation skills, quality awareness and ability to quickly establish good contact with other people.

Additional qualifications
Previous experience with supervision of students, particularly at PhD level, is an advantage. Postdoctoral experience is an advantage.

Your application should include

  • CV (max. 3 pages)
