Teaching assistant in Data engineering for battery research

The Department of Information Technology holds a leading position in both research and education at all levels. We are currently Uppsala University's third largest department, have around 350 employees, including 120 teachers and120 PhD students. Duties
The main task is to investigate how machine learning methods can be combined with battery simulations to, for instance, accelerate or improve predictions, or to make statistical inferences on unobserved variables based on measured data. Tentatively, the focus will be on so-called Lattice Boltzmann methods for simulating an extremely sensitive mass sensor (QCM). The results should be summarized in a written report. The primary duties are thus to participate in research but may also include some administration.

Requirements
For employment as a teaching assistant, it is a requirement that you are admitted as a student at undergraduate or advanced level. The applicant must show good study results, especially in the relevant subject areas as well as very good English communication skills, both spoken and written.

Good knowledge of machine learning and strong programming skills, e.g. in Python or C++, are required. Experience with simulations and other advanced computational methods is a merit.

Additional qualifications
Previous coursework or work experience in machine learning, programming and computational science is a merit.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, until 29 August 2025, according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 § 12. Scope of employment 50 %. Starting date 2 June 2025 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
