Postdoctoral position in stochastic control theory

The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The number of employees is 120, including 30 PhD students. The Department has three research programs: analysis and probability, algebra and geometry, applied mathematics and statistics.

Duties
Conduct research in stochastic control theory within the project “Investment Decisions and Optimal Learning”. Teaching and administration can be included (at most 20 percent).

Requirements
PhD degree in mathematics or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in mathematics. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Priority will be given to applicants who have completed their degree no more than three years before the deadline for applications.  Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

Documented ability to excellent research in stochastic control theory and its applications in financial problems. Relevant subareas include optimal stopping theory, classical stochastic control theory, singular stochastic control, dynamical game theory and the study of stochastic control problems of relevance for financial applications.

Proficiency in spoken and written English.

About the employment
