Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences

The Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences is an interdisciplinary environment where 10 research areas work to contribute to better medicines and a healthier world. Duties
Research and development for chemical hazard assessment using cheminformatics and artificial intelligence methods, including QSAR modeling. Participation in MISTRA SafeChem Phase 2 project https://mistra.org/program/forsta-programmet/#eng.

Requirements

Phd degree in bioinformatics or related field, or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree in the specified field. The degree must be completed no later than the time of the employment decision. Preferably, the degree should have been obtained within the last three years. The starting point for calculating the three-year timeframe is the final application deadline. In special cases, such a degree may have been obtained earlier, with special reasons including leave due to illness, parental leave, union-related trust assignments, etc. Experience in data science applied to life science problems. Experience in machine learning/artificial intelligence/multivariate methods including supervised and unspupervised methods. Experience with deep neural networks. Experience in cheminformatics. Good programming experience in Python with Git for version control. Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, as well as good documentation skills.

Additional qualifications

Experience from workning in virtulized environments, Kubernetes, GPUs and highperformance computing resources. Prior experience from chemical safety assessment. Experience in toxicology.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position of 2 years according to central collective agreement.  Full time position. Starting date 2025-04-07 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
