The Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University is Sweden´s largest and most versatile department of its kind with approximately 280 employees. Our activities are interdisciplinary and combine natural science and technology with social science. We have research programs in air, water and landscape science; geophysics; natural resources and sustainable development; petrology, mineralogy and tectonics; paleobiology, and wind energy. You will work as a Project administrator for CNDS, the Centre for Natural Disaster Studies. CNDS is a national knowledge centre for natural disasters with active researchers from Uppsala University, the Swedish Defense University and Karlstad University. For more information: CNDS.
Duties
You will coordinate CNDS's activities and identify needs for work efforts to achieve the Centre's goals. Together with the management team, you will be responsible for overall follow-ups of the centre's initiatives, plan and support the organization of scientific conferences and events linked to research training and cross-sector collaborations, as well as work with various types of internal and external reporting. Furthermore, the position includes coordinating and, if necessary, participating in CNDS's internal and external meetings, as well as working with the centre's websites and social media. The position may involve travel within and outside of Sweden.
Requirements
Higher education in Earth Sciences, Engineering, Political Science, Public Health or similar fields. Very good skills in both Swedish and English in speech and writing are required. We are looking for you who have a structured way of working, the ability to have an overview and be able to prioritize different work tasks. It is important that you are easy to collaborate with and are able to establish contacts with other administrators, researchers, and stakeholders.
Additional qualifications
Experience of working in international research environments and/or in cross-sectoral environments is meritorious. We appreciate that you are proactive, able to organize and communicate work in a results-oriented way, and have a constructive approach towards solutions to problems.

About the employment
