Temporary full-time position for 6 months, starting as soon as possible or by agreement
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering aims to be an environment for successful and valuable research and education with a focus on materials science solutions for important societal challenges. Our department is an exciting workplace with research in a broad technology-related area, from basic research to large-scale applied research, and with close contacts with students through the department's involvement in engineering and master's programs. Our research and teaching are conducted within seven divisions with different research focus.
About the division
The division for Solar Cell Technology (SOL) is part of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Ångström Laboratory. The research spans from fundamental understanding to development of efficient and potentially low cost solar cells based on thin film technology. Our aim is that the research contributes to a sustainable electricity system with the sun as energy source. Our focus is on aterials containing chalcogens, such as sulfur and selenium, for example (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) and Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTS), but also inorganic perovskites such as BaZrS3 and other new materials.

Project description
The project aims to increase the understanding of metastable behavior in solar cell materials through electrical characterization. The work is carried out in connection to a WISE project where properties of thin films with wide band gap energy is characterized for applications in solar cells.
Duties
The duties involve electrical characterization of thin films and solar cells using capacitance-, current-voltage and quantum efficiency measurements, as well as analysis of the results and comparison with theoretical calculations.
You are expected to work efficiently, safely and independently in a lab environment and be responsible for and handle experimental equipment.
In addition, communication of research results, for example through scientific articles in well-established scientific journals, is also included as an important part of the employment.
Qualification requirements
PhD degree in Engineering Physics with specialization in electronics, or a closely related field.
We require documented knowledge and several years of research experience of electrical characterization of Cu(In,Ga)Se2-based thin film solar cells, including capacitance measurements.
We require very good oral and written skills in English, as well as very good skills in writing scientific publications.
Additional qualifications
It will be an advantage with experience in one or more of the following fields
We attach great importance to your personal qualities. Good cooperation and communication skills are very important. You must be purposeful, structured and able to work effectively both individually and in a group. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
When assessing the applications, special emphasis will be placed on the applicant's ability to publish scientific work in high-quality journals and to give presentations at scientific meetings.
Your application must include
During the application period, we will continuously read application documents and call for interviews
