The Department of Information Technology holds a leading position in both research and education at all levels. We are currently Uppsala University's third largest department, have around 350 employees, including 120 teachers and120 PhD students. Are you interested in working with software for harvesting and analyzing research data, with the support of competent and friendly colleagues in an international environment? Do you want experience in working at a university? We welcome you to apply for a teaching assistant position at the IT Department, Uppsala University.

Duties
The main task is to develop software for harvesting, processing, and analyzing experimental data from the Ångström Advanced Battery Centre according to best practices. Tentatively, the plan is to install a database solution called NOMAD Oasis on a local server, and to develop corresponding applications for data transfer from the lab equipment. The primary duties are thus to participate in research and administration.

Requirements
Employment as a student assistant is regulated by the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Only those who are admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level may be employed as student assistants (Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5 §10). The applicant must show good study results, especially in the relevant subject areas as well as very good English communication skills, both spoken and written. Strong programming skills, e.g. in Python or C++, are required.

Additional qualifications
Previous coursework or work experience from database handling and data engineering are desirable, as well as experience with graphical user interfaces for controlling experimental chemical equipment.
