We are now looking for a researcher in ecological genomics to the program Animal Ecology.

Project description
The Baltic subspecies of Atlantic cod (Gadus morrhua callarias) is exposed to different environmental conditions, especially salinity, at different parts of its range. In this project you will analyse genomic, microbiome, transcriptomic and epigenetic data on different life stages of cod stemming from both field and experimental material. The ultimate goal of the project is to understand how cod copes and adapts to the environmental variation in the Baltic.

Duties
Molecular and bioinformatic analyses of transcriptomic, metagenomic, methylation and amplicon sequencing data. Manuscript preparation and publishing.

Qualifications required
Ph.D. degree or a foreign degree equivalent to a doctoral degree in ecology or evolutionary biology.  Documented excellent molecular wet lab skills. Experience in data and bioinformatic analyses of transcriptomic, metagenomic, and amplicon sequencing data. Good oral and written communicative and supervising skills. Experience in complex molecular laboratory techniques such as whole-genome sequencing methylation library preparation (EM-seq) and QC analyses is desirable.

Candidates must be able to express themselves proficiently in spoken as well as written English, and have written and published in international scientific journals. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as excellent collaboration skills, good initiative and high independence to drive the project forward.
