About the division
The Division of Solar Cell Technology is part of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Ångström Laboratory. The research within the division of Solar Cell Technology is dedicated to fundamental understanding as well as development of effective and low-cost solar cells based on thin film technologies. The focus is on materials containing chalcogens such as sulfur and selenium, e.g. (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) and Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTS), but also inorganic perovskites, such as ZrBaS3.
Job duties
Up to four positions are available, including lab work (deposition and thermal processing of thin film solar cell materials in the cleanroom) and programming work (coding a Python program to control a robot arm). Exact duties will be defined in discussion with the supervisor depending on the percentage of time available for the position.
Qualification requirements
To be hired as a teaching assistant, it is required that you are enrolled in and registered for undergraduate or advanced studies, and the employment may correspond to a maximum of 50% of full-time work. Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated by Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
For this position, it is required that you have good academic results from a master's or civil engineering program and have completed at least three years of full-time studies. We also require good results from advanced-level courses in solar cell technology or thin film technology (for lab work) and otherwise documented evidence of programming capability (for programming work).
We require also good ability for spoken communication in English.
Additional qualifications
Previous experience in laboratory work is advantageous (for laboratory positions). You are meticulous, able to work in a structured manner, and have good organizational skills. You also have good initiative and planning skills, as well as a willingness and ability to collaborate with the employees of the Solar Cell Technology division.
