The research assistant position is located in Uppsala within the research program Natural Resources and Sustainable Development (NRHU), Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University. The research of the Natural Resources and Sustainable Development Programme focuses on the different dimensions of sustainable development. We consider the environment and its natural resources and ecosystem services as an overarching foundation for society and economy and aim at providing knowledge on how to utilize natural resources in a sustainable way. Our work involves considerations of both natural and social systems and their interactions, often adopting transdisciplinary approaches.

The position is part of the FORMAS-funded projects PUDDLE JUMP (Promoting Upstream-Downstream Directed Linkages in the Environment: “Joined-Up” Management Perspectives) and LANDPATHS (The landscapes of the future: barriers and drivers for transformation paths) funded by the Swedish Environmental Agency.

Duties
The research assistant will help with the work with both projects, by searching and synthesising relevant literature and policy work, helping in organisation of project meetings and stakeholder workshops, practical help in organisational and administrative tasks, and communication activities. The assistant will also take part in overall activities within both projects and support the researchers in the wide range of tasks. 

Requirements
The applicant shall have a bachelor and research interests relevant to the PUDDLE JUMP and LANDPATHS projects. Good skills in oral and written English are important prerequisite.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, 6 months. Scope of employment 40 %. Starting date 1 November 2024, or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
