Teaching assistant - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

The Department of Statistics provides education at all levels. We conduct research in many different areas such as biostatistics, econometrics, time series analysis, high dimensional multivariate linear models, causal inference and structural equation modeling.

Duties
The main duty is to participate in teaching. Participation in teaching means, for example, participation in seminars and tutorials/lessons, grading of assignments, answering students' questions, and supervision of student projects. Requirements
Employment as a student assistant is regulated by the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Only those who are admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level may be employed as student assistants (Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5 §10). The applicant must show good study results, especially in the area of the course the applicant will help with, as well as very good knowledge of Swedish (only for courses taught in Swedish) and good English communication skills, both spoken and written.

Additional qualifications
The position makes great demands on the ability to work together and to be able to run and complete tasks independently within given time frames, even during temporary work peaks. Great emphasis will be placed on personal aptitude. It is meritorious to have taken courses or to have experience in pedagogy. It is particularly meritorious if you are currently studying on the Master's programme in statistics and data science.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, ending 2025-01-31 or as agreed, according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 § 12. Scope of employment varies between 2 and 50 %, depending on what course(s) you are working. Starting date 2024-09-09 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
