The Unit for Global Partnerships is a part of the Division for Internationalisation and is responsible for Uppsala University’s international collaboration projects and networks (https://www.uu.se/en/collaboration-innovation/networks-partners-and-collaborations/international-collaborations) We are now looking for a student who would like to work part-time with administration as an international project assistant. One of the main projects you will be working on is the South Africa – Sweden University Forum (SASUF) and its student network.

As an International Project Assistant, your tasks will include:

  • Administration within projects
  • Act as Uppsala University's student representative within SASUF and assist with administration within the student network.
  • Gathering information and compiling documentation for project reporting
  • Assisting in project meetings and conferences
  • Assisting with communication efforts within projects

The specific duties may vary depending on the needs of the operation.

Requirements

You are currently a full-time student at Uppsala University and have completed at least one year of university studies. You have a strong ability to work as part of a team, are creative and used to taking initiatives. It is important that you are responsible, meticulous, and organised. Experience working with a focus on South Africa and/or Southern Africa, as well as leading or managing activities within student organisations, is considered a merit. Since we work with organisations worldwide, a requirement is that you speak and write English fluently. Knowledge of Swedish is desirable and will be considered an asset. You should also be based in Uppsala, as some tasks require on-site work.

You have experience in:

  • Administrative work
  • Working with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Additional qualifications

  • Experience in web editing/publishing
  • Experience in writing texts
  • Experience working or studying abroad
  • Experience leading or managing activities within student organizations
  • Experience working with a focus on South Africa and/or Southern Africa

As a project assistant at our unit you will have flexible working hours but ideally work an average of four hours per week. In connection with meetings and deadlines your work hours may be more extensive.

About the employment
The employment is hourly. Scope is 10–25% according to agreement. You are employed for each individual assignment and receive financial compensation per hour. Starting date Upon mutual agreement. Location: Uppsala
