Duties
The work will be carried out within two complementary research projects. The first project, “Can social policy reduce the risk of polarization over climate change mitigation?” is funded by Formas. The second project, “Does the welfare state shape public support for climate action?” is funded by the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation (MMW). Both projects aim to generate new comparative data from multiple countries on how welfare investments affect support for carbon taxes within Europe (Formas) and among some of the world’s largest emitters (MMW).

The assistants will collaborate with Professor Joakim Palme and other researchers at the Department of Political Science. Key tasks include conducting case studies on the social and climate policy conditions in each country and writing country reports based on these studies. Additionally, the assistants will do some data coding and data management as well as administrative tasks.
