The Department of Women's and Children's Health is an international and multi-professional institution with a focus on health and well-being. The global health perspective is always present, and there is collaboration across professions and clinical areas, both in education and in research.

The department is leading research and education in the field of global health and migration. Activities are grounded in 2030 Agenda, with special emphasis on sexual and reproductive health, child health and nutrition, implementation and migration. The education and research program address the health challenges in low- and middle-income settings, in humanitarian crises and in a migratory context. The department makes important contributions towards equitable global health by developing and evaluating interventions and new strategies for tackling priority health problems. Research projects are mostly interdisciplinary and conducted in close collaboration with academic institutions and other partners around the world.

We are seeking to employ a project assistant

Duties

  • To assist course leaders in planning and implementing courses in the master's program in global health
  • To receive external lecturers and be helpful at seminars and lectures
  • To support the new master’s students by answering practical and creating a good atmosphere and cohesion in the group

Requirements
Master’s degree in global health. Experience of international education as a student or through work experience.

Interest in and/or experience with global health issues. Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, statistical analysis programs and reference management software. Emphasis is placed on ability to be structured, easy to make contacts, very good communication skills, good language skills in spoken and written English, and good cooperation skills.

Additional qualifications
Good knowledge of Uppsala University's routines and rules regarding master's programs.

Good knowledge of statistical and/or qualitative analysis programs. Good language skills in spoken and written Swedish is desirable.

About the employment
The employment is a permanent temporary position until 31 January 2025. Scope of employment 100 %. Starting date 15 August 2024 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
