At the Vi3 Division, we have a unique combination of expertise in human-machine interaction,
computerized image analysis and computing education research.

In the Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) unit we study the interplay between people and machines (e.g., information technology, automation, robots and intelligent interfaces). From a global perspective, we aim to improve the relationship between people and technology and foster positive social change through technology. 

Duties
The research work primarily relates to two research projects at the Uppsala Social Robotics Laboratory: designing robots for/with children, focusing on robots in educational environments, and designing robots for use in preventative healthcare. Work tasks include reviewing research literature, programming social robots, helping to prepare materials (information sheets, consent forms, experimental stimuli) for human-robot interaction studies, (independently) undertaking human-robot interaction studies, and preparation and analysis of study data. 

Requirements
University degree in information technology, informatics, computer science or equivalent. Documented experience in the design and execution of human-robot/human-computer interaction studies, including qualitative data collection (e.g. interviews). Must speak fluent Swedish.  

Additional qualifications
Documented experience with programming/implementation of interactive agents (robots, avatars, chatbots etc.). 

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, 12 months. Scope of employment 100%. Starting date 2024-08-12 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
