The Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University has a broad research profile with strong research groups focused on cancer, autoimmune and genetic diseases. A fundamental idea at the department is to stimulate translational research and thereby closer interactions between medical research and health care. Research is presently conducted in the following areas: cancer precision medicine, cancer immunotherapy, genomics and neurobiology, molecular tools and functional genomics, neuro-oncology and neurodegeneration and vascular biology. Department activities are also integrated with the units for Oncology, Clinical Genetics, Clinical Immunology, Clinical Pathology, and Hospital Physics at Akademiska sjukhuset, Uppsala. The department has teaching assignments in several education programmes, including Master Programmes, at the Faculty of Medicine, and at the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology. The department has a yearly turnover of around SEK 500 million, out of which more than half is made up of external funding. The staff amounts to approximately 345 employees, out of which 100 are PhD-students, and there are in total more than 700 affiliated people. SciLifeLab (www.scilifelab.se) is a hub for life science research in Sweden and a collaboration between Swedish universities. Everyone at SciLifeLab is employed at one of the partner universities. Since 2013, SciLifeLab is assigned by the Swedish government to operate national infrastructure, to provide cutting-edge life science technologies and -expertise to Swedish researchers, and to be a top international centre for research in health- and environment sciences. SciLifeLab is also hosting a national pandemic laboratory preparedness program and a large research program for Data-Driven Life Sciences (DDLS), with eleven partner organisations.
The successful candidate will be working at the SciLifeLab Data Centre, a central unit within SciLifeLab with responsibility for IT- and data management issues, serving the SciLifeLab and the Data Driven Life Science (DDLS) research program.  We have a national assignment and operate a range of services for life science data and e-infrastructure.  We also work with issues about FAIR data and open science, and in close collaboration with major national and international partners. Working at the Data Centre, you will be at the core of Sweden’s top infrastructure for life sciences and have the opportunity to actively shape how state-of-the-art IT and data science are integrated in Swedish life science research, and help to maximize the scientific impact of the large amount of research data generated at SciLifeLab. You will work in a team with researchers, data engineers, data stewards and system developers in a rapidly growing, dynamic and progressive team with a leading role in Swedish data-driven life science. 

Job description:
SciLifeLab Data Centre is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable FAIR Metadata and Semantic Technologies Program Coordinator. In your role, you will work with communities advancing the FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) principles and semantic technologies, at the organisational, national, and international levels, coordinating, managing, and engaging them while furthering SciLifeLab's data driven life science goals. You are expected to interact with these communities by providing outreach and training, developing guidance, and help desk support. You will serve as an important resource within the organisation advising on metadata best practices and tools while striving to improve the interoperability, discovery, and use of resources and their underlying data. The work may also include leading and managing special projects and activities in teams that prototype and address community challenges involving the position’s scope. You will report to the Head of Open Science but will also interact with other units and staff in your role. You are expected to share the group's vision of developing unique and high-quality research data services and support for Swedish life science, driven by scientific needs, with a strength in IT and service management, and with open science and FAIR at the Centre.

Qualifications:
This job requires a university degree in a relevant area. In addition, the following is required:
- Documented experience in leading and coordination projects, including planning, organisation and implementation of projects.
- Documented experience in coordination and communication of semantic technologies, FAIR metadata, and interoperability communities, as well as documentation of ongoing work.
- Documented experience working with FAIR metadata, interoperability, and semantic tools and approaches as well as outreach and training to communities on these tools and approaches.
- Documented experience working with data/software management support services.
- Background in the FAIR principles and assessment tools and approaches.
- Documented experience in bioinformatics or life science research.
- Fluent in English

Meriting:
- Knowledge or interest in open life sciences research and FAIR infrastructure
- Ability to work both individually and in cooperation with personnel in widely different fields
- Drive and initiative to develop and support data driven, FAIR, and open life science research in Sweden.
- Background in managing communities and providing outreach and training
- Experience with FAIR metadata, semantic tech, and interoperability approaches, tools, and systems
