Duties
Research in the field of bioinformatics. Computational method development to integrate data from cell morphology (cell painting) with proteomics (thermal proteome profiling) for the analysis of the mechanistic effects of chemicals on cells. The project will be conducted in collaboration with an experimentally oriented postdoc who will be recruited simultaneously to the department.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in bioinformatics or related field, or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree in the specified field. The degree must be completed no later than the time of the employment decision. Preferably, the degree should have been obtained within the last three years. The starting point for calculating the three-year timeframe is the final application deadline. In special cases, such a degree may have been obtained earlier, with special reasons including leave due to illness, parental leave, union-related trust assignments, etc.
  • Solid experience in data analysis on biological data.
  • Experience in supervised and unsupervised machine learning, including deep neural networks.
  • Proficient programming skills in Python.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, as well as good documentation skills.

Additional qualifications

  • Experience with methods for integrating multiple data types such as proteomics and cell morphology.
  • Experience in the analysis of microscopy images.
  • Experience in the analysis of mass spectrometry data.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position of 2 years according to central collective agreement.  Full time position. Starting date 2024-06-03 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
