Uppsala University, Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology holds a leading position in both research and education at all levels. We are currently Uppsala University's third largest department, have around 350 employees, including 120 teachers and120 PhD students. Approximately 5,000 undergraduate students take one or more courses at the department each year. You can find more information about us on the Department of Information Technology's website.

The Division of Systems and Control are now recruiting up to 20 teaching assistants for their courses.

Duties
Participation in teaching in any of the courses listed below. Participation in teaching means, for example, participation in labs and tutorials/lessons, grading of assignments, answering students' questions, and supervision of student projects. Course marked SVE are taught in Swedish and the rest of them are taught in English. Please note that the course 1RT490 is in both period 1 and 2. Requirements
Employment as a student assistant is regulated by the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Only those who are admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level may be employed as student assistants (Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5 §10). The applicant must show good study results, especially in the area of the course the applicant will help with, as well as very good knowledge of Swedish (only for courses taught in Swedish) and good English communication skills, both spoken and written.

Additional qualifications
Previous experience from participating in teaching in courses at university level is particularly meritorious. Experience with relevant IT systems (Studium) is desirable as well as good knowledge of Uppsala University's organization.

Application procedure
The application must contain a letter in which the applicant briefly describes his / her experience in teaching, language and knowledge (e.g., study certificate). The application must also contain which courses the applicant is interested in and an estimate of the number of hours he/she wants to work (per course and period, and where the number of hours must be 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120). Also attach your transcript.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 § 12. Scope of employment 5-50% depending on how many hours you work. Starting date 2024-08-19 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
