Project description
The project aims to understand how organism communities, food webs, and ecosystem services in alpine/Arctic lakes and rivers are changing in a warmer climate.
Duties
Participate in data compilation/analyses and the writing of scientific publications within projects that address ecological change in Arctic lakes and streams with partners in the US, Canada, Denmark/Greenland, Norway and Sweden. Even additional field work can occur.
Qualifications required
The applicant must hold a PhD in limnology, aquatic ecology or equivalent, preferably with a profile in northern/Arctic ecosystems and their food webs. Good knowledge of multivariate statistics, good skills in oral and written communication in English are required, as well as experience of field work and a valid driver's license. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as good cooperative ability and accuracy.
Qualifications desired
Previous postdoc experience is a merit, as are documented experience of how stable isotopes and/or lipids are applied in food web research, of experimental studies, and of work in Arctic/alpine environments.
