Uppsala University, Department of Women's and Children's Health

Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of complex interventions

The position is within the research group Healthcare Sciences and e-Health at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health. The group is hosting U-CARE, an interdisciplinary research programme (http://www.u-care.uu.se). The overall aim of the work within U-CARE is to increase access to psychological support for individuals grappling with somatic illnesses and their close ones.

Our research primarily focuses on studying mental health in patients with various somatic illnesses and their relatives, and we aim to develop, test, evaluate, and implement support and psychological interventions for these groups. We also investigate the best ways to recruit individuals for clinical studies and effectively motivate continued participation. We employ both quantitative and qualitative methods, including systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, feasibility and pilot studies, as well as controlled and cohort studies. Our broad expertise in research methodology was recognised in the latest evaluation of research at Uppsala University.

Duties
The individual we are seeking will have the opportunity to work on their own research projects as well as contribute to ongoing research within the Healthcare Sciences and e-Health research group and U-CARE. The research should align with U-CARE's overarching goal of developing, testing, evaluating, and implementing complex interventions for patients and/or their close ones. During the postdoctoral period, the successful candidate is expected to actively apply for research grants from national and international research funding bodies. The appointee is also expected to engage in teaching, particularly at a PhD level, and supervise PhD students.
