Postdoctoral Position in Psychology

At the Department of Psychology, approximately 700 full-time students are educated each year. The department hosts several successful research groups conducting research in various areas of psychology. The current position is affiliated with the Development and Neurodiversity Lab and is primarily funded by a grant from the Riksbanken Jubileumsfond (P23-0311_RJ).

Job Responsibilities

Data analysis (including pre-registration and preprocessing) and writing scientific reports within the framework of the EASE and BATSS studies. Dissemination of results to scientific and general audiences. The focus of this position is primarily on EEG and behavioral data. Some project-related administration may be included. Teaching (up to 20% of full-time) may be part of the job responsibilities.

Qualification Requirements

 A doctoral degree in psychology/cognitive neuroscience or an equivalent foreign degree. The degree must be completed by the time the employment decision is made. Primarily, candidates who have obtained their degree within the last three years should be considered. In calculating the three-year period, the deadline for applications is the starting point. If there are special reasons, such a degree may have been obtained earlier. Special reasons include leave due to illness, parental leave, positions of trust in trade unions, etc.

Experience in research in developmental psychology and independent analysis of EEG data from young children or infants is required, as well as good communication skills in English and generally good knowledge in statistics and quantitative data analysis. Being able to work effectively and independently is necessary, and the applicant must have good IT skills. Experience in behavioral genetic analysis models, analysis of MRI data, AI-based methods, and research on autism is an advantage.

About the Position

The position is temporary for at least two and up to three years according to a central collective agreement. The scope is full-time. Starting date is March 1, 2024, or as per agreement. Location: Uppsala
