The number of employees is 130, including 40 PhD students. The Department has three research programs: analysis and probability, algebra and geometry, applied mathematics and statistics. To read more please visit the department ́s webpage.

1-2 postdoctoral positions are available at the Department of Mathematics, to work with Assistant Professor Fiona Skerman in the areas Probability Theory and Combinatorics.

Duties
The duties of a postdoctoral researcher are primarily directed at their own research. The work may also involve, to a limited extent (maximum 20%), other departmental duties, mainly related to teaching courses. The aim of the research is to study various problems in combinatorial probability theory and to develop methods for the study of such problems. This includes, for example, random graphs and probabilistic problems from the study of algorithms.

Requirements
PhD degree in Mathematics or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in Mathematics. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment. The starting point of the three-year frame period is the application deadline. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

The candidate should have a good command of spoken and written English, knowledge of Swedish is not required.

Additional qualifications
A strong background in probability, combinatorics or theoretical computer science will be an advantage as well as earlier research results in that area.
