We work with the design, production, and in vitro and in vivo analysis of various types of biological drugs, such as protein- and antibody-based drugs, AAV, and peptide-based drugs. The diseases for which we aim to develop new treatments primarily involve conditions in the brain and cancer. The tasks will depend on the qualifications of the candidate we choose.
Qualification Requirements
We are currently seeking a person with documented experience in the development of biological drugs and a Ph.D. in a subject related to biological drugs. The doctoral degree should be completed no later than the time the employment decision is made. Preferably, the candidate should have obtained the degree within the last three years. When calculating the three-year period, the starting point is the application deadline. If there are specific reasons, such a degree may have been obtained earlier. Specific reasons include leave due to illness, parental leave, trust assignments within trade unions, etc.
Some additional administrative and teaching-related tasks may be included in the position.
Desirable/Additional Merits
It is advantageous if you have documented experience in in vivo studies and hold a FELASA certificate (attach the certificate to the application). Experience with in vitro experiments such as flow cytometry, ELISA, protein purification, protein expression, and work with analytical methods for protein characterization is advantageous. The ability to work sterilely with various cell types is a significant advantage. The capability to handle and analyze experiments with various types of microscopes may be beneficial.
We are looking for a curious, motivated individual who is good at communicating, collaborating, and working independently, contributing to a positive atmosphere within the group.
Significant emphasis will be placed on communication and collaboration skills.
About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, 2 years according to local agreement. Scope of employment 100%. Starting date 1 February 2024 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
