Duties
The goal with our research is to develop biopharmaceuticals targeting Alzheimer’s disease. The drug candidates that we develop are first tested in vitro then in vivo. We are now looking for a person that can run the in vivo studies we do in different murine transgenes. It will be therapeutic studies with both protein based therapeutics and gene therapy using AAVs. Included in the tasks are also some analysis of the experiments in vitro and some administrative tasks.

Requirements

You need to have a FELASA certificate and thorough experience of working with research animals. You should have a degree as animal technician or a medical/pharmaceutical/biomedical degree with documented work with research animals. Emphasis will be put on finding a candidate that is good in communication and collaboration which is required in order to cooperate efficiently with other group members and collaborators.

Additional qualifications

It is meriting if you can assist in applying for ethical permissions and have a certificate as animal research manager. Meriting is at least two years’ work life experience with biopharmaceuticals in animal research models. To technically master i.v. injections in mice is a big benefit. Have a done a course in handling of radioactive substances is meriting. Have experinenc in working with PET or similar methods. We are looking for a curious, motivated person who is good in communication, collaboration and likes to work independently and that help contribute to the good atmosphere in the group.

The employment is a permanent position (probationary period may be applied). Scope of employment 100 %. Starting date 1 January 2024 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
