The Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences (PUBCARE) belongs to the Faculty of Medicine and has extensive research conducted by our 11 research groups in areas such as primary Care, public health sciences, caring sciences, speech therapy and bioethics. Furthermore, the department conducts education in the medical program, the nursing program, the speech therapy program, the master's program in public health and through a number of independent courses. We are currently looking for a research assistant to the research group Primary Care.

The research group have a close collaboration with the Region Uppsala Academic Primary Care Center and corresponding centers in neighboring City Councils. Aside from research projects, the group is engaged in facilitating academic work in clinical practice. Ongoing research fields include diabetes, COVID-19, chronic pain and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The majority of ongoing projects are in collaboration with other departments or universities.

The research group is in a development phase and much effort is taken to make the group larger with many new exciting projects!

Duties

The research assistant will play a central role in a research project exploring how metabolic profiling can improve diabetes care. Responsibilities include participating in the steering group, engaging with participants, and managing large sets of research data.

Requirements
M.D. and/or a master's degree from the medical faculty, along with documented and current experience in the above-mentioned tasks. Good collaborative skills. Secure, stable, and good self-awareness. Independent but not afraid to seek support. Strong numerical analytical skills.

Additional qualifications
Basic knowledge of Real-world evidence methodology.  Independent and proficient in the statistical program R. Experience working as a physician in primary care is an advantage.

The employment is a  temporary position, 3 months. Scope of employment: 100 %. Starting date as agreed. Placement: Uppsala
