The Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University has a broad research profile with strong research groups focused on cancer, autoimmune and genetic diseases. A fundamental idea at the department is to stimulate translational research and thereby closer interactions between medical research and health care. Research is presently conducted in the following areas: cancer precision medicine, cancer immunotherapy, genomics and neurobiology, molecular tools and functional genomics, neuro-oncology and neurodegeneration and vascular biology. Department activities are also integrated with the units for Oncology, Clinical Genetics, Clinical Immunology, Clinical Pathology, and Hospital Physics at Akademiska sjukhuset, Uppsala. The department has teaching assignments in several education programmes, including Master Programmes, at the Faculty of Medicine, and at the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology. The department has a yearly turnover of around SEK 500 million, out of which more than half is made up of external funding. The staff amounts to approximately 345 employees, out of which 100 are PhD-students, and there are in total more than 700 affiliated people. Job description:
Lead research projects in immuno-oncology with a special focus on translational studies in immunotherapy in lymphoma.
Aid in the automation of our approach, i.e., drafting the standard integrated reports and constructing natural language processing record search, based on literature research and the expertise of the research team.
Duties include laboratory work in areas specified in areas listed as qualification requirements.
Supervise master's students
Assist with the supervision of doctoral students.
Participate in the daily management of the data collection.
Be able to take up additional subtopics related to your project, depending on the progress of your work, and personal initiatives.
Summarize research projects in scientific articles, disseminate your results at conferences and publish scientific reports
Write and apply for research grants.
Qualification requirements:
PhD in immunology
Multiple years of experience with ex vivo and in vivo immunological assays.
Multiple years of experience with cancer models and experimental immunotherapy for CNS tumors.
Expert knowledge with many years of experience in 20-channel multicolor flow cytometry.
Experience in immunohistochemical methods and analysis.
Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases with a strong focus on single-cell and multi-omics analysis.
Experience in techniques required for cell culture and ex vivo analysis of immune cells.
Strong experience in immunological assays using immunotherapies and their analyses.
Solid knowledge of statistical methods and their application to biological data.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Proven track record of scientific publications including first authorships in immuno/oncology and contributions to research projects.
