The position is within the research group Healthcare Sciences and e-Health, hosting U-CARE an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research program (http://www.u-care.uu.se), at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health. U-CARE specializes in the development, piloting, and evaluation of e-Mental Health interventions for people with somatic disease, and their significant others. U-CARE has several international collaborations and our broad competence within research methodology was acknowledged in the latest evaluation of research conducted at Uppsala University. We have developed an internet-based research and treatment platform, the U-CARE platform (the Platform), to deliver internet-administered interventions (e.g. psychological support and treatment) and to support research procedures such as informed consent, randomization, and data collection. Several feasibility studies, pilot studies, and controlled studies involving principal investigators within U-CARE and the Healthcare Sciences and e-Health research group, as well as other research groups, are being conducted on the Platform.

Duties
The person we are looking for will work as a research assistant supporting ongoing research within the research group Health Sciences and e-health and U-CARE. Research projects will be focused on the development, test, evaluation and implementation of complex interventions for patients and/or their relatives.

Examples of possible research projects the person we are looking for may be asked to assist with include:

GuardiansCan: the development and test of an e-health intervention for guardians of children being treated for cancer in Tanzania

INVOLVERA: the development a test of a guided behavioural-activation self-help intervention for people with dementia and their caregivers

The person we are looking for will support the supervisor with both research tasks (e.g., collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data) and wider administrative duties (e.g., scheduling meetings and booking meeting rooms, writing meeting minutes, writing research progress reports). Other administrative tasks may be included.

Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with a master’s degree in a relevant field, such as public health, behavioural sciences, sociology, psychology, or nursing sciences. Experience with administration systems and very good knowledge of MS Office, reference management systems and data analysis programs such as SPSS, R, or STATA is required. The applicant should find it easy to collaborate and enjoy working both independently and in small project groups. Furthermore, great importance is placed on qualities such as flexibility, problem solving, and quality awareness. Initiative and a structured way of working are important for this position. We would like the candidate to be efficient, able to prioritise many different tasks, be able to handle rapid changes in tasks, to be thorough, and interested in constantly supporting and developing the group.

Additional qualifications
The applicant should have a great interest in, and possess good prior knowledge in, the relevant area for the projects. Previous work experience in planning and carrying out clinical research, scientific writing and documented work experience in intervention research and/or mental health and digital health research is strongly meritorious. Experience analyzing and reporting data collected using quantitative as well as qualitative methods is also desirable.
