Duties

Within the Scandinavian Sjögren´s syndrome network, the goal is to identify novel risk genes, epigenetic changes and immunological mechanisms behind the development of primary Sjögren´s syndrome and its different clinical manifestations, particularly lymphoma. This is achieved by genome wide association studies (GWAS) and DNA sequencing. Further, we study epigenetic regulation through DNA methylation and gene expression in whole blood, sorted cells and single cells, as well as proteomics in sera. The duties consist of data analysis from GWAS, DNA methylation, DNA and RNA sequencing and proteomics.

Requirements
PhD degree in medicine, molecular biology, molecular genetics, biomedicine or biotechnology or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in any of the subjects above. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment. The starting point of the three-year frame period is the application deadline. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

Good knowledge in PLINK and R is required, as well as good oral and written skills in English. Personal qualities will be an important selection criterion, in particular the ability to collaborate with other researchers, take responsibility and work independently.
