The Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University is Sweden´s largest and most versatile department of its kind with approximately 250 employees. Our activities are interdisciplinary and combine natural science and technology with social science. We have research programs in air, water and landscape science (LUVAL); geophysics; natural resources and sustainable development; (NRHU); petrology, mineralogy and tectonics (MPT); paleobiology, and wind energy. Research at Natural Resources and Sustainable Development (NRHU) includes (amongst other topics) work on mineral and metal resources for society and energy transition, geohazards and resilient communities, climate, and active Earth processes. Duties
The work includes preparing rock samples for geochemical analysis (rock cutting, crushing, grinding and mineral separation) and supporting scientific manuscript and presentation preparation. Tasks will include organizing sample collections, maintaining sample and geochemical databases, plotting geochemical data, editing manuscript text, and organizing presentation material for lectures and scientific conferences. The work requires a good level of organizational ability, good communication skills, and good time management skills.

Requirements
The applicant must have completed a BSc or MSc degree in Earth Sciences and have experience with rock sample preparation, handling geochemical datasets, and word processing. Good English language skills are necessary.

Additional qualifications
Experience with vector graphics in e.g. Adobe Illustrator is an advantage.

About the employment
