Duties
The research group in clinical neurophysiology conducts translational research that focuses on optimizing diagnostics, follow-up and pathophysiological mapping of diseases due to disturbed neuromuscular transmission. The current research project aims to validate circulating biomarkers in blood samples in the autoimmune neuromuscular disease Myasthenia Gravis (MG). Tasks include molecular biology work with methods such as RNA isolation, qPCR, protein analyzes etc. of patient samples. Other duties include compiling data, managing the collection of samples and biobanking as well as statistical analyses. Supervision of PhD students and other students as well as teaching is also included. 

Requirements
PhD degree in molecular biology or immunology or a foreign degree equivalent to this PhD degree. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment. The starting point of the three-year frame period is the application deadline. Due to special circumstances, the degree may have been obtained earlier. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

We seek highly motivated individuals for this position, who have extensive experiences in molecular biology and/or autoimmunity. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Swedish and a collaborative attitude are also required.

Additional qualifications
Practical experience of lab work including RNA isolation qPCR, protein level analysis as well as handling biosamples and databases. Supervising and teaching experience is desirable 

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position of 2 years according to central collective agreement, with a possible prolongation of 1-2 years.. Extent of employment:100 %. Starting date 2023-06-01 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
