Duties
You will be working in a project group studying primary cilia (small protrusions from the cell surface) and their importance for normal and altered insulin secretion from pancreatic beta-cells. As part of this project, you will design and produce biosensors and molecular tools for visualization and manipulation of primary cilia. Work assignments also include culture of clonal and primary cells, transduction of cells, fluorescence microscopy-based visualization of living cells, image analysis and insulin secretion measurements using ELISA

Requirements
The applicant should hold a Masters degree in biomedicine, medicine, biology biotechnology or a matching degree. Previous experience of molecular biology techniques for cloning and of cell culture are requirements. The applicant is also required to have excellent skills in both spoken and written English.

Additional qualifications

Previous experience with fluorescence microscopy-based visualization of living cells and of work with experimental animals is considered favorably, but is not a requirement.

About the employment
