Institutionen för freds- och konfliktforskning grundades 1971 med syftet att bedriva forskning och erbjuda utbildning inom området fred- och konfliktstudier. Institutionen är idag en ung, dynamisk och internationell arbetsplats med ca 90 medarbetare och ca 300-400 studenter från hela världen. The Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP) has recorded ongoing violent conflicts since the 1970s. The data provided is one of the most accurate and well-used data-sources on global armed conflicts and its definition of armed conflict is becoming a standard in how conflicts are systematically defined and studied.

Duties
The focus will be on collecting and coding information on organized violence into UCDP:s online coding interface, as well as on updating and writing new texts in the programs encyclopedia. Further assignments may be added.
