Project description
This project aims to examine the genetic basis of wing polyphenism using waterstriders as a model system from a functional genetic perspective. Use of RNAi screens and in situ hybridizations will be used to examine candidate genes from a transcriptomic study to understand both within and between species variation in wing polyphenism.

Duties
The successful candidate will perform functional genomic experiments including RNAi microinjections and in situ hybridization of wing tissue in waterstriders as well analyze data from experiments and write manuscripts for publication.
