Uppsala University, Department of Chemistry - Ångström Laboratory

The Department of Chemistry - Ångström conducts research and education in the chemistry field. The department has more than 250 employees and has a turnover of 250 million SEK. At the department's six programs, we conduct very successful research of a high international standard. We have a large number of externally funded research projects, often with international cooperation and we see continued good growth in our subject area. The EU-supported project SoFiA is conducted within the Physical Chemistry Program at Uppsala University, ad with seven partners within Europe. The Physical Chemistry Program conducts well-recognized fundamental research in the areas of solar energy and chemical dynamics.

Work duties
Coordination of the EU project SoFiA. Communication, planning, coordination and follow-up of the project with all partners, as well as reporting to the EU Commission.

 Requirements:

  • Education: PhD degree in Seunce or engineering in an area relevant for the project, in particular polymers.
  • Experience: Prior experience working in EU projects.
  • Knowledge: English, fluent, verbal and in writing.
  • Competences: Documented ability to produce successful project proposals to the EU Commission, which have been funded. Scientific and entrepeneurial competence shown by sceintific publications in international, peer-reviewed journals and by patents within areas relevant for the SoFiA project (sopfilms and foams, artificial photosynthesis). Good organizational skills, and ability to organize and coordinate projects, conferences etc.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will also be given to i.e. good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen the administrative work within the unit/department, as well as contribute to its future development.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position until 2023-01-01. Scope of employment 40%. Starting date 2023-01-01 or as agreed. Placement: Stationed abroad with the partners for the project.
